General Information

The Food Service Department is responsible for providing meals to the Sisters who live at the Motherhouse, Carrico Hall, and David Hall. The noon meal is also available for the residents at Village I and II and the Campus Service employees. The department caters meals and socials per request on the Food Service Request form available on the Food Service Department intranet web site.

The menus are planned weekly and are based on cycle menus for each season. They are designed to be low-sodium, low fat, low-cholesterol with options for diabetic diets. The Sisters favorite foods are included in the cycle menus. Special attention is given in planning the menu to provide a variety of foods that are pleasing to the eye, variety of texture, color and seasonal fruits and vegetables. To view the current menu go to the Food Service Department intranet web site.

Sixteen employees encompass the Food Service team. Two cooks, three assistant cooks, one baker, eight food service workers, one supervisor and director provide hospitable service to the customers.

The Sisters at Carrico Hall and the Motherhouse can request specific food items weekly. A coordinator from each floor turns in the Weekly Food Request form. The form is available in the communication room at the Motherhouse and the Food Service Department intranet web site. The food service staff fills the request and the sisters can pick them up at a designated time and day.

Other food requests are to be submitted on the Food Service Request form at least one week in advance. These forms are available in the communication room at the Motherhouse, the Human Resource department and the Food Service Department intranet web site.

Sister guest meal requests forms are available in the communication room at the Motherhouse and the Food Service Department intranet web site.
