Flaget Memorial Hospital is gearing up for their 60th anniversary.

They are asking the community to share their fondest memories and/or well wishes of Flaget Memorial Hospital and, in turn, are sharing these with the community on this webpage.

Flaget Memorial Hospital, a 52-bed facility, is the only hospital in the Nelson County (Bardstown) area and treats those from Washington, Spencer, Bullitt and LaRue counties in addition to Nelson County. The hospital became part of Saint Joseph Health System in early 2008. Flaget Memorial Hospital is part of Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI), a national non-profit health corporation based in Denver, Colorado with hospitals and health facilities in 19 states. The original hospital was built in 1951 by the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth with several additions over the next 50 years. By 2002 it was 61,298 SF with 52 semi-private beds and only two operating rooms, one procedure room, seven emergency treatment rooms, five ambulatory treatment rooms, and two labor/delivery rooms.

Flaget Memorial Hospital will also be celebrating their 60th anniversary with Mass at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Nazareth, Ky. on Jan. 14, 2011 at 2 p.m.
