Five Sisters make first vows, from left to right — Reema Tigga, Assunta Rose Kujur, Stella Mary, Amal Rani and Kattepogu Asha.

It was a grace-filled, joyous day for our five vibrant young women. A. Stella Mary, Asunta Rose Kujur, Kattepogu Asha, L. Amal Rani, and Reema Tigga committed themselves through first vows at a simple yet profound Eucharistic celebration on the 7th of March 2012. Their theme: HERE I AM GOD TO DO YOUR WILL resounded in the meaningful homily by the presider Fr. Alwyn D’Souza, S.J., and in the melodious choir by the novices and Sisters. Several SCNs from far and near shared the joy of the newly professed along with the family members who braved the travel hurdles due to “Holi” festival. It was indeed a much awaited day for them after seven long years of preparation. Their heart echoed deep gratitude to God, the SCN family and all those who have molded their life with love.

Four women enter the novitiate, Anash Anima Mundu,
Anshumala Nira Toppo, Pachola Oliva Kujur, and Seema Joy Kujur

The next day, on March 8, 2012 the pre-novices, Anash Anima Mundu, Anshumala Nira Toppo, Pachola Oliva Kujur, and Seema Joy Kujur were initiated into Novitiate by Sister Sangeeta at a simple and meaningful Eucharistic celebration.

The main celebrant, Fr. Dominic K.P., S.J., challenged them to be united to the Real Vine Jesus and to be rooted in God’s love as a strong foundation to religious life. Being the International Women’s day he said to fall in love with two ladies, Our Lady and Catherine Spalding. Sister Sangeeta anointed them and presented the constitutions and asked them to live the in the Spirit of Vincent De Paul and Catherine Spalding. The presence of many SCNs were very inspiring and an expression of their affirmation and support for their new journey to ‘Bethel’ (house of God).
