Sister Janet Dougherty was able to provide assistance to the Family Nurturing Program with the help from the Breaking the Cycle of Violence and Poverty effort. Family Nurturing Program wrote a letter to Sister Janet, thanking her for the assistance. A portion of the letter is below:

So many families have benefited from your generousity. One of our particpants was a single mother of five. She had previously lost custody of her two older children but was determined to retain custody of her youngest children. She voluntarily registered for the program. She was relocated from a domestic violence shelter, to a homeless shelter, and finally housing outside of South Boston. She was 7 months pregnant and found it difficult traveling back and forth long distances via public transportation during cold and dark winter nights. We were able to afford her a taxi ride home every week with your assistance. She was able to graduate from the program with perfect attendance.

Another young mother who was displaced due to the limited housing available in the Boston area was issued temporary housing in a hotel. The distance made it difficult for her to attend the nurturing program with her infant daughter. With your help she was able to complete the program.

All the ends of the earth have seen the saving power of God.
