Bangalore, India

August 16, 2012

The Executive Committee meeting in Bangalore began with a day of prayer during which the members viewed a DVD of Barbara Marx Hubbard’s presentation at the LCWR meeting, entitled ‘The Transformation of Consciousness and Religious Live Leadership’.  It was followed by a time of reflection and sharing.

Since it was the first gathering of the new Executive Committee, time was spent on in-depth sharing of our individual journeys in community.

Nazareth School, Bangalore, gave a cultural program with singing and dancing by the children of various grades.  Each member of the Central and Province Leadership was felicitated and presented a bouquet of flowers and a shawl.

Later in the afternoon, Anita Knott, Director of Finance, joined the group via Skype along with Anita Smith, Executive Assistant, for the presentation of the Finance Report.

The day began with prayer and reflection on excerpts from the letters of Mother Catherine.  The Sisters then continued with the previous day’s personal sharing.

Highlights of the afternoon included discussion on the Charity Federation/Vincentian Family; National Farm Worker Ministry Board; Publications Committee and the Emerging Trends across the SCN Congregation as we plan for the future.

As the meeting came to a close in the afternoon, reflections of the experience of the day included a sense of relationship building and love for the Congregation, realizing that all that has gone before us has brought us to today.

Patsy O’Toole presented the OCA report via Skype in the evening.

The Executive Committee wishes to thank all for the prayers for safe travel and for the inspiration of the Spirit during the meetings.
