“Reading Day” was celebrated at Marian English Medium School in Anakkampoil on June 24, 2016. Reading Day is observed on the June 19 every year in memory of Puthuvayil Narayana Panicker who was known as the father of the literary movement in the state of Kerala. The play presented by the students of classes VIII and IX depicted how the poor young Lakshmi was able to pass her examination just because of her keen interest in reading. A beautiful book display in the library encourages the students to spend their free time reading. A quiz game competition was also held as a part of Reading Day.
