We thank each of you for your ongoing prayers during this week of EC meetings.

The last two days have focused on Crisis Management and Crisis Communication. Presentations were given by Communication Directors, Diane Curtis and Dana Hinton, with Malini Manjoly, SCN, EP Coordinator of Communications, participating by Skype. The sessions involved identifying potential risks across the Congregation and brainstorming ways in which we might mitigate these risks. Effective crisis communication practices were also discussed.

Present for the meetings: SCNs Mary Elizabeth Miller, Susan Gatz, and Sangeeta Ayithamattam as well as members of the Extended Executive Council, Vice Provincials Basanti Lakra, Brenda Gonzales, Reena Theruvankunnel, and Adeline Fehribach.

Teresa Kotturan, SCN, joined the group via Skype from Patna, India. Also participating in the last two days of meetings, Anupa Moozha, SCN.

Judy Raley, SCN, was unable to attend the meetings as she was asked to be present for a CHI conference.

Sister Adeline led Wednesday’s prayer. She reflected upon the earth and the many crises that are being faced around the world from global warming to human trafficking to the plight of women and children. Today’s prayer was created by Sister Basanti who asked those present to reflect upon a number of passages, followed by a moment of quiet meditation and a sharing of words of thanks and gratitude.

Also this week, Leadership hosted a dinner for Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz on Tuesday evening which included a video about the Congregation and our ministries. The Archbishop expressed a great deal of interest in learning about our missions.
