Friends and supporters of Doors to Hope gathered in Louisville today to celebrate the five year anniversary of this ministry. Lorena Miller, director of Doors to Hope, welcomed those gathered. Rebecca Miles, SCN, the first director of this ministry, shared a brief history of the organization. Denise Ruffra shared her experience as a volunteer. Zorayda Diaz, Juan Martinez and their daughter and son spoke of what Doors to Hope means to them. Jasmine Martinez said that Doors to Hope brings her family together and expressed gratitude for “the doors that Doors to Hope” has opened for her family through tutoring and English as a Second Language classes.
Those gathered were there invited to a reception featuring an anniversary cake, fruit and cheeses, and homemade tapas. Music by Liana Ibershoff & Friends and Osmani from Salsa All Stars entertained the crowd.
;How happy our Mother Catherine and St. Vincent de Paul must be to see a ministry so much to their heart and their own early history of mission! May the Doors to Hope keep open for years and years to come, for all those who need them and the helpers they need so that education is available for their learning of all sorts. Blessings to all who come and go through the Doors to find Hope!
Congratulations to all those who have made Doors to Hope a place of learning and encouragement!
