Rt. Rev. Anthony Swamy, Bishop of Chikmagalur blessed Deepalaya, the new SCN residence at Banakal on April 11 at 10:30 am.  By cutting the ribbon, Sangeeta Ayithamattam, SCN Provincial, inaugurated it.

The blessing and inauguration of Deepalaya was indeed a blessing for the Sisters who lived in difficult situations, moving from rented houses to living in the school building for a number of years. Deepalaya is a beautiful home overlooking the mountains and a place the Sisters can now call their home. From several places around, 20 SCNs, local well wishers, staff, students and their parents of Nazareth School, Banakal, attended the Mass presided over by the Bishop. The dignitaries were honored during the short cultural program presented by the students.

We are grateful to all those who made it possible to have this new abode for the Sisters. Sisters Reena Theruvankunnel and Josita Eniakattu were present every step of the way to lend the needed guidance and assistance for the local community. Sisters Elizabeth Jaya Rani, Sincy Sebastian, Tarcisia Hembrom and T. Josephine Antony Mary are grateful to all the benefactors and all those who have been a support to them during these years.
