In response to the call of our previous Province Assemblies and the encouragement from the province leadership, fifty-nine Sisters from twenty-six local communities and fifteen novices spiritually and physically refreshed themselves in prayer during the eight-day contemplative retreat in Mokama from September 29 to October 6, 2017. It was organized by the On-going Formation (OGF) team.

The retreat director Rev. Cyriac Neerakkal, OCD from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala gave ample time for personal prayer, reflection, communal meditation and shared prayers. Daily we also had very enriching liturgies and adoration before the Blessed Sacrament based on the theme of the day and Scripture. Time was given for private interviews also. One day was set apart for the sacrament of reconciliation. It was truly an enriching experience.

The milieu at Nazareth Convent, Mokama decked with varied, colorful flowers was conducive to making the retreat. God’s abundant blessings also came in the outpouring of a heavy shower to cool us down. The morning and evening dewdrops of the autumn and the serenity of the shrine compound provided the needed ambiance and atmosphere for the Sisters and novices to enter into the retreat with an open heart to embrace what God had in store for each one.
