Sixteen young perpetually professed Sisters gathered in Mokama, India, from Oct. 17–19 to reflect, pray, discuss, understand and share their experiences of living the consecrated life in reality. The ongoing formation team, Sisters Rita Puthenkalam and Marcelline Indwar, were the resource persons. The theme was “Consecrated Life in the Church Today! Wake up the World!”

The group reviewed Vatican II in the light of today’s scenario; the reasons and aims of Pope Francis’ call to the Church to focus on this Year of Consecrated Life and the Pope’s asking of religious to be witnesses of a different way of doing things, of acting and of living. We need to wake up ourselves, to wake up the world!

The group also looked at the challenges of living religious life today in a talk by Sister Inigo based on which the Sisters made their commitment for the Year of Consecrated Life. The young Sisters experienced a realization and responsibility that on their shoulders, they can build future hope.
