Congratulations to the House of Ruth which celebrated its 20th anniversary on Sunday, September 16. The program included honoring the founders, SCNs Sharon Gray, Rebecca Miles, Betty Blandford and Marilyn Spink (dec.) and Sharon Cook, Sharan Benton, Anne Bindner and Liz Bindner (dec). The board gave an award to Julie Driscoll, SCN, who served as the first formally appointed Executive Director. Prior to that, Sharon Cook was the board member who served as coordinator, contacting the women, arranging housing and communicating with other HIV/AIDS organizations. The House of Ruth award in the future will be known as the Sister Julie Driscoll award. Congratulations to the founders and to Sister Julie for giving birth to this much needed ministry, which has touched the lives of so many in the Louisville community.
