The Namoona children’s club along with the Navjyoti children’s club network committee organized a campaign against anti-social activities in Koldada¬†Village. The children’s club chose the right time for their event just at the eve of Dasain Festival where all sorts of anti-social behaviors take place such as alcoholism, fights in the family, fights between groups, and gambling occurs.

The children had arranged a public hearing about all sorts of atrocities that occur in this village which is dominated by Dalit groups. The chief guest was the honorable parliamentarian and ex-minister of poverty alleviation and co-operative development ministry. Dev Kumar Subedi Mayor of Birendranagar municipality and Prem Prasad Acharya child protection officer were special guests. Other guests were ward chairperson, political parties leaders of the area, police inspector for the area, chairperson of tole committee, Lawyer and NGO representatives of the area including Navjyoti Center. Local people children from 10 children’s’ clubs of Navjyoti were present. Children had lots of questions targeted towards all the dignitaries and parents regarding anti-social behaviors, their causes, prevention, legal provisions etc.All the speakers praised Navjyoti Center for the past 15 years of service in the village which has brought a great change in the village. All those who contributed to the development were given a certificate of appreciation on behalf of children’s club. At the end, all those present took an oath to prevent anti-social behaviors and to promote children’s rights in the village. Children from the child clubs presented a beautiful cultural program which entertained the audience.
