Child Club Network Meeting
Leaders from ten child clubs met at Navjyoti Center on Oct. 14. There were 43 children present (30 girls and 13 boys). Each club presented their reports of activities and achievements. Their achievements were based on savings as well as minimization of social problems in their areas. They also shared about the personal progress and their success stories. They were given input on how to conduct monthly meetings, how to prepare agendas, and minuting. They also made plans for the coming three months. At the end of the workshop they were given games materials. They were very excited to receive the materials before the Dasein holidays. Due to the one day meeting they learned about awareness on child rights, child abuse, child labor, and trafficking. Children have learned to prepare reports of clubs and present them in the network meeting. They have become aware of social problems and how to minimize them. They seem to be quite forward in carrying out community services like cleaning of public roads, common wells, repairing the common wells by collecting donations. They also tried to help the families where death took place. They have become aware of ecological rights of children and their responsibilities to protect the environment. Child clubs members have become more active and have been doing well in their studies.
