July 24, 2015, was a day of celebration at Navjyoti Center, Munal path, Dharan, Nepal. The certificate giving ceremony of trainees of the 2015 class was held in the afternoon for 35 young women acquiring skills in English language, basic computer application, tailoring/dress design, and beauty parlor skills. They were also given classes in personality development, gender sensitization, and leadership.

Rev. T.V George, SDB, was the parish priest of the Don Bosco Church and he was the chief guest for the occasion. Lakshmi Rai of Lumanthi NGO was the guest of honor for the occasion. The cultural program of songs, dances, skits and a slide presentation of the learning and experiences of the trainees at Navjyoti was well presented. Both the chief guest and the guest of honor appreciated the presentations made by the trainees and exhorted them to go ahead in life with the knowledge and skills acquired. Lakshmi Rai, in her speech said, “Whatever skills and knowledge the trainees have acquired, the confidence gained is very visible through their presentations.”

At the end of the program the certificates of completion of the course were distributed. There were close to 50 persons in the audience including Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, parents of the trainees, neighbors, and friends of Navjyoti Center. Roselyn Karakattu, SCN, the director of the center, thanked the guests for their presence and encouragement given to the trainees.
