July 19 is a special day for Sisters of Charity of Nazareth. It is formerly St. Vincent DePaul’s feast day, a day on which Sisters made first vows or perpetual vows. All were thrilled that Sisters from Carrico Hall could join them for liturgy for the first time since the end of March.
After Liturgy, the Sisters who live in the Motherhouse, O’Connell Hall, and David Hall were treated to a delicious meal in the dining room which had been converted into “Cafe de Paul” with white table cloths, candles in colorful wine bottles, accented with red roses, and printed menus. A French atmosphere.
Sister Frances Krumpelman prayed the Hail Mary in French and all stood for the playing of France’s National Anthem. Berets were worn by several Sisters and their master chefs. During the meal, French cafe music filled the air.
Thanks go to Sisters Mary Assumpta, Sarah Geier, Frances Krumpelman, Kaye Glunk, Janet Ballard, and Luke Boiarski for their creativity in making this day a memorable one!
