Maureen Taaffe, SCN, has been selected as a 2010 recipient of the Bishop Cheverus Medal. Cardinal O’Malley began the tradition of awarding the Cheverus Medal in 2008, during the Bicentennial Anniversary of the Archdiocese of Boston. The award is named after Bishop Jean-Louis LeFebvre de Cheverus, first bishop of Boston, and honors those who “have worked in their own quiet way to make the kingdom more visible.” The award will be given on November 28, 2010 at 3 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Assumption in Boston, Mass. All are welcome to attend.
