Held on Jan. 23, the sports day began with the welcoming ceremony of the chief guest, Father George, SDB, escorted by Principal Jyoti Kerketta, SCN, Ann Scaria, SCN, and four selected students. The sacred sport torch was lit by the chief guest which symbolizes “The Right Attitude.”

The grand march by the four houses was led by the school leaders and their house leaders. Students looked elegant in their house uniform. The students showcased their multifaceted talents in the march, drill, aerobic dance, and formation of a lotus. It culminated with the award ceremony where the students were awarded with trophies, medal and many other surprises. The chief guest of the day encouraged the students with his inspiring and challenging speech, “sport is the part of education which forms the young mind in different ways; it develops team spirit, co-operation and discipline,” he said.

A large number of parents’ presence showed love, care and interest in their children’s physical development along with mental and intellectual development. It was an encouraging event for all the students as well as teachers to see parents’ participation in sports event. Their presence motivated the school to organize different programs in the near future too. The best part of the Annual Sports 2015 was co-operation and willingness to do their best. The day ended with cheer and laughter in everyone’s face. A big congratulations to Navjyoti School family.
