It was a bright perfect sunny day on Nov. 25 on the sprawling green grounds at India Gate as the organizers of the Annual Alumnae gathering arrived bright and early to pick out a cozy spot for this long awaited event. Group by group — 19 of them arrived without delay. What joy it was as each greeted the other with hearts full of nostalgic memories of their student days at Nazareth Nursing School.
With the lighting of the lamp and a short prayer the get together got off to a good start. Sheeba, one of the office bearers started off a very interesting interactive session on their own on-going empowerment as nurses and above all, as women in the mission of empowering their co-nurses. One of the high points was the presentation of an attractive wall plaque to the first nurse from Nazareth School of Nursing who completed her Ph.D., Dr. Philomina Thomas congratulated her on her doctoral thesis, “International Migration Experience of Indian Nurses in Different Countries, Comparative Studies in UK,USA, And Gulf Countries.”
After a quiz competition and some games and prize distribution everyone enjoyed the pot-luck dinner. With a promise of attendance at the next annual reunion the group dispersed savoring the sweetness of their time together.
