Ann Jeanette Effinger, SCN, 92, a native of Louisville, Kentucky died at Nazareth Home, on Monday, December 15, 2014. She had been a Sister of Charity of Nazareth for 74 years.

Sister Ann Jeannette served in elementary education as both teacher and principal in Kentucky, Virginia, Massachusetts, Ohio, Tennessee and Mississippi for 43 years. In Louisville, Sister Ann Jeanette served as teacher at Holy Family School, at Community Catholic as both teacher and principal, as substitute teacher for Jefferson County Public Schools; in education at our Lady of Peace Hospital; and as teacher at Holy Name School. Sister served as tutor at Blessed Sacrament School from 2000-02; at Community Catholic from 2002-03, and again at Blessed Sacrament from 2003-05. Sister Ann Jeanette had been a resident at Nazareth Home since March 2009.

Survivors include one brother, George D. Effinger; five sisters, Mary E. Guelda, Cecilia E. Mazzoni, Marie E. Sullivan, Barbara E. Russell, Carolyn E. Foerster, all of Louisville, Kentucky and her religious community.

Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at Nazareth Home, Louisville, followed by the Funeral Mass on Wednesday, December 17, 2014. There will be a short Prayer Service in St. Vincent Church, Nazareth, KY at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, followed by burial in Nazareth Cemetery.
