Angie Fredell shares her cross country bicycle trip

Mike and Angie Fredell (Nurse Care Manager for the Sisters in the Louisville office) rode a tandem bicycle 50 days on a cross country trip. The trip started in Astoria, OR with a rear wheel dip in the Pacific Ocean and ended 50 days later in Portsmouth, NH, with a front wheel dip in the Atlantic Ocean. They crossed 10 states: Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ontario Canada, New York, Vermont, & New Hampshire. 37 other individuals participated in this adventure as well. They only had 1 flat tire and 1 day of downpours. They averaged 80 miles a day with the longest day being 119 miles. They rode through cold days, wind, & heat. There was a destination they had to reach every day. They conquered Teton Pass, the Continental Divide, & Mt. Rushmore. There’s was the only tandem bicycle on the trip. There was 7 countries and 18 states represented.

They used this trip as a fundraising opportunity for a prison ministry they volunteer for. More pictures and information can be found on a blog that was kept.
