Volunteers for the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth returned to Nazareth, Kentucky last week. The group was rewarded a well-earned respite after three consecutive home builds completed in Belize with varying volunteers giving of their time and talents.
The last home built of three was constructed in a small village outside of Belmopan, the capital of Belize. It was there that the group spent five days building the Ortiz family a wooden planked house, 20 feet by 24 feet.
Each day, the volunteers were surprised by the blessings received. Beautiful clear skies, extra help to clear the large bushes off the ground, and a young man named Andre to help guide the build made the group able to proceed each day with grace and determination.
It is a beautiful house for a wonderful family. I am so proud of my sister Bee and all the other workers who built it.
