Pelican Club

Why is it called the Pelican Club?

The pelican is the traditional symbol of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth. Legend tells how this unique bird will feed her young with her blood when no other means of nourishment is available. The pelican, then, will give her life in order to save her children and future generations. In a similar spirit of love, the SCN Family provides care for those in need.

Pelican Club members pledge an annual gift to support SCN Missions for the fiscal year, which runs from September through August each year. Here are the categories of your membership:
  • Pelican Club $100 - $249
  • Silver Pelicans $250 - $499
  • Ruby Pelicans $500 - $999
  • Golden Pelicans $1,000 - $9,999
  • Diamond Pelicans $10,000 or more
The Sisters of Charity of Nazareth around the world hold our Pelican Club members in daily prayer. All members are remembered at a monthly liturgy celebrated at the Motherhouse at Nazareth and are gratefully recognized in the SCN Annual Report. If you would like to become a Pelican Club member or renew your membership please fill out and submit our Pledge Form.
